Is It Safe To Travel With Swollen Injured Knees?

I am 60 years old. Yesterday I fell on a concrete sidewalk on my knees. Both knees are swollen and the bruises are as big as my fists. I am due to fly on a 2 hour trip in 9 days. My sister says I should cancel the flight due to increased chance of blood clots. True?

Hi,Thanks for your query. After going through your query I came to know that you have got bruise on both your knee .You want to fly on a 2 hour trip in 9 days. You want to know that it will increase chances of blood clots. I think injury does not make a difference. To avoid blood clot you can move in the move in the plane at a interval of half an hour for nearly one to two minutes. You can discuss with your treating Doctor about it. I do hope that you have found something helpful. If you have additional questions or follow up queries then please do not hesitate in writing to us. I will be happy to answer your query.Wishing you a good health. Take care.
