Is It Safe To Use Clomid During Pregnancy?

My ultrasound shows pcod, I m 30 yrs old, had miscarriage last year. Trying for pregnancy but no result so far, doctor prescribe me clomid 100 mg for 5 days. My question does clomid affect baby s health before or after born, is there any risk of birth defects or it is completely safe to use. I m aware that it may cause multiple pregnancy but that is not a problem as far as babies are healthy.

I understand your concern.
Actually conception is union of male& female gametes( sperm & ovum) some times there is failure of maturation of ovum( hampering conception.)
Clomid ( clomiphene citrate) is a drug that induce maturity of ovum/ovulation,which is essential for conception.
Though clomid has few side miner effects on mother while she takes the pills, It does not have any side effect in fetus ,no birth or after birth defects are seen because of clomid. Babies born with clomid are healthy. It is safe to use it.Rather it gives essential assistance in conception by correcting maturation of ova.
So please follow advice given by your doctor.
