Is It Safe To Use Naturogest, Folvite And Karagon Injections For An IVF Pregnancy?
Hi Doc, we were planning for IVF as one of my tube was blocked. So in the initial phase of it I was on Lupride injection from my 14th day of period. My
I didn't got my obgyn has asked me to visit on the 3rd day of my next period. Surprisingly I didn't got my period and after a week delay I visited her. She did sonography and prescribed 5 days pills to get the period. I was in a dilemma and didn't took those medicine. Yesterday after 10 days of my period delay, I went to her and she did sonography again and asked to take those pills to get period but for my satisfaction she asked for the pregnancy test. Surprisingly it was positive. Now I am really not sure how to trust my obgyn coz had I taken those pills, I would have aborted. She is a very senior Doc for IVF. After this she has prescribed Naturogest 200mg thru Vagina twice a day as my earlier test of hormones was 0.8 level which is considered to be very low. Please advise can I continue with Naturogest and Folvite? Also I need to take weekly two injections of Karagon (5000 IU) for first 3 months. Is this safe?

Congratulations for being pregnant the natural way. You have said that the hormone level is low, this may cause spontaneous abortion. That is why your doctor has prescribed you Naturogest. Folvite is for proper development of neural tube of the fetus. So it is necessary to continue them.
Koragon contains HCG, a hormone which is normally secreted by placenta. Koragon can be given during early pregnancy to supplement the placental function. There is no adverse effect on fetal development because of it.
You should follow your doctor's advise.
