Is It Safe To Work Out While On Medication For Hypertension?

I am 63 year old male just been prescribed Folpik XL 5 mg per day due to hypertension. Feel much calmer but normally do gym 3 times a week can I continue ? I am monitoring my BP for the surgery all next week. Had a blood test all clear cholesterol 4.9. I weigh 234 lbs down from 261 last May and 5 foot 10 inch in height.

Hi and welcome to Healthcaremagic. I understand your concerns.
It is generally safe if you feel well and there is no dizziness, fatigue or arrithmias so you should not worry about this. However, work out should not be extreme and you should measure your BP if you start to feel dizzy or weak. Also, it would be good to avoid ling runs since it may lead to dehydration which could interfere with some medications for blood pressure. ALways drink enough fluids when your work out.
