Is It To Be Concern About Bug Bite In Child?

My daughter has what appears to be a bug bite. It has not changed in size (first noticed the round red bump the day before yesterday). It actually looks not as bright red but more pink. The slightly swollen center is red and a very minimal amount of puss has excreted. It does not seem to bother her. Should I get it checked out?

Pediatrician, Pulmonology 's  Response
Hi...I suggest you get it examined. Pus exuding means that it is getting secondarily infected. The bug bite might not be bothering her, but we need to make sure that the infection doesn't spread tot he surrounding skin and soft tissues. It might require a topical antibiotic.
