Hi,I am Dr. Santosh Kondekar (Pediatrician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Is It To Be Concerned About Abnormal Stool In Child?
Hi, I ve got a baby boy exactly 3weeks old today and we ve switched to Lactogen 1 ,5days ago first day he had normal poo but since then started getting constipated and poo started looking more like toothpaste and struggling squeezing it out how can I make it better??
Thanks for your query to HCM.I understand your concern.According to me,the baby might be intolerable (i.e digestive tract immature to digest milk solids) to Lactogen 1 formula which would have caused constipation, bloating etc.In my opinion usually by 5 to 6 months, the child becomes tolerable to infant formulas.I suggest you to consult with your pediatrician for another good alternative infant formula like Enfamil a+ stage1 for your child if breast feed is insufficient.Hope this information helps you.Take care.
