Is It To Be Concerned About High BP?

HI, I am 33 yrs. old male. Got detected with High BP 150-110.

the doctor advised me with salt restriction in diet and in the mean time asked me to undergo medical tests.

The Blood report was normal other then the below.

1) VitB12 was detected to ABOVE50.

2) Uric Acid was detected as 7.9.

he has advised me to take medicine for B12 - for 1 year - Homecheck.

and Uric Acid medicine for 2 months.

I wish to know, hope this report is not very scarry. The doctor seems good, but a bit worried.

He confirms that the high BP is detected due to the above-mentioned problem.

pls. confirm. thanks for your help.

hello,
Your vit b12 is certainly low for which you must be taking oral supplements like tab ME12, also, milk and dairy, meat are the only source of this vitamin. Uric acid is borderline, not very high and diet modification alone suffice. You should avoid meat to decrease Uric acid. This may not cause high bp.
You should have a healthy lifestyle like avoiding fatty, oily and high calorie diet. Have low salt diet and monitor blood pressure regularly thrice a day for one week then once or twice a week. If bp is persistently more than 140/90 then you should have treatment for it. Regular exercises like brisk walking, jogging according your capacity atleast 30 min a day and 5 days a week. Lots of green leafy vegetables, fruits, fish once or twice a week, avoid meat. Avoid smoking and alcohol if any. There shouldn't abdominal fat deposition or obesity. Get your lipid profile and sugars tested once.
You being an young hypertensive you ll first evaluation for cause of blood pressure.
You should undergo test like kidney function test, renal artery Doppler, Sr cortisol and 24 hr Urinary metanephrines.
