Is It To Be Concerned About The Pain In The Right Side When Having High BP?
I suffer fron high bp. Last time I had it checked it had come down from 220/109 and was last tested over 2 weeks ago and was 158/96 so my gp introduced a diuretic as well. I keep getting chest pains but mainly in my right so don t want to bother anyone unduly and have a gp appointment on tuesday. I am taking Cardura XL 8mg bendoflumethiazole 2.5mg, Adizem XL 300mg and Lisinopril 20mg as well as other meds for other reasons. Should I go to my gp before my next appointment on 1/7 or should i just leave it for a bit?
Welcome to HealthcareMagic, Your blood pressure is very high. Normal blood pressure for adults is less than 140 over 90. It is preferable to get your self evaluated by a cardiologist if you are getting frequent pains, as a echo and ECG will be required. You can wait for your next appointment, but in case you get severe chest pain immediate go to the hospital. In order to control blood pressure follow the given below advice: 1. Regular exercise such as brisk walking for at least 30 minutes per day 2. Consume a diet rich in fruits, vegetables and low fat dairy products. 3. Reduce salt intake to less than 5 grams per day (1 teaspoon is approximately 5 grams) 4. Take your medications regularly and get your blood pressure checked at least once a month. Hope that answers you question. Regards, Dr.Imaad
