my wife is 40 years old and has diabetic sugar levels of 120- 140, whether we have to continue the medicines of triglucomate and janumet, if yes, please provide the up to which period and dosage the same can be continued-muralidhar vellanki, delhi, India

Not necessarily. In the Initial stages of Diabetes, these medicines are started. If the Blood Sugars are not under control, the medicines have to be changed for better control of Blood sugars. Usually the Need to for Insulin arises after 10 years of Diabetes Diagnosis in most of the patients, for some it could be earlier and for some it could be later. Just stick to your treatment plan and go for regular follow up to your Diabetologist. Eat healthy nutritious balanced diet which should include fresh fruits and Green leafy vegetables. Avoid high calorie foods and maintain a healthy weight. Exercise and go for regular Brisk walks for an hour daily. These measure will keep your Blood Sugars under fairly good control.
