Is It Usual For Periods To Take Longer Than 4 Days To Begin?
Hello, I had unprotected sex about 6/7 weeks again and I then took the morning after pill the next day. However due to going on holiday this month I took two packets of Dianette back to back and I started my break this Monday, after not having my period for 2 months. however I haven't come on my period yet; Whilst on holiday I experienced an upset stomach and was very tired. Should I be worried and take a pregnancy test, or is it usual for my period to take longer than 4 days to begin?
I am so sorry to hear about this delayed periods. 4days is not too alarming not to have your menses just yet. I will suggest that you wait for at least one week before getting worried about absent menses. Should your menses not come by the end of a week, then do a hoe pregnancy test. If the results are positive for pregnancy, then see your gynecologist for further management. If the menses do not show up, patiently wait and you should have your menses sometime later.
I hope this helps. I wish you well. Dr. Ditah, MD.
