Is Itching And Burning Sensation Normal When Having Atopic Dermatitis?
I have been diagnosed with atopic dermatitis .. there was a patch on my forehead and ittchyness on my arms and neck area...but last few days I m having lot of burning sensation on my hands and a feeling that lots of ants moving in my hand ... is this normal?
Hi. As per your case history of atopic dermatitis, my treatment advice is - 1. Avoid using any new products like soap or perfume as it may worsen the condition. 2. Apply an emollient cream like Enmoist cream twice daily on affected skin. Regular application of emollient will prevent itching and burning sensation. 3. Take an antihistamine medication like levocetrizine twice daily for 7-10 days. 4. Other treatment options are oral antibiotics, oral steroid taken only after consulting a dermatologist.
Thanks. Dr. Harshit bhachech. MBBS, DDVL.
