Is Itching Sensation On Chest Caused Due To Contact Dermatitis?
Hello,
I have an itchy chest which appears to have red patches on it. Im very hairy and it has only recently started to impact me. I itch when im hot and someones in bed. I also have an itchy dry scalp on my left hand side which is causing/looking like danadruff.
the last time i went to the doctors it was for my arms and back which were itchy. I was informed i had a case of contact dermatitus.
Is this just a more aggressive form of contact dermatitus? should i be scared?
It is characterised by dandruff in scalp with associated redness that can involve face, upper chest primarily as a part of allergy to this dandruff.
In such cases , i usually recommend my patient to use a good antidandruff shampoo containing ketoconazole 2% to be used thrice a week.
For itch and redness , mild to moderate potency steroid like fluticasone can be applied once daily over the lesions.
You make take antihistaminics like tab levocetrizine for the symptomatic relief.
Thanx
