Is Itchy Skin Caused Due To Viral Infection Or Dehydration?
I am experiencing extremely itchy skin on scalp, torso arms legs hands and feet since I had a GI bug with vomiting, fever body aches. I was dehydrated dark Amber urine which is getting better. The itchy skin is hard to tolerate. Is it part of the virus or related to the dehydration. Should I go to Dr?
Need not to worry. I would suggest you to start taking anti allergics medications such as Allegra. You should apply a steroid ointment like cortisone over the rash area for relieving inflammation and itching. Application of calamine lotion will be effective to soothe the skin. Apply cold compresses over itchy rashes. Take small and frequent meals. You should maintain proper cleanliness and avoid scratching the bumps to prevent infection. If symptoms still keeps on persisting you should visit dermatologist once and get it examined. go for patch test and blood tests and start treatment after proper prescription.
Hope your concern has been resolved.
