Is Laparoscopic Surgery Recommended For A Likely Malignant Tumour In The Colon?

My doctor found a likely malignant tumor in the hepatic flexure - this on Wednesday Dec 6th. I am scheduled to see a surgeon on Monday. The colonoscopy dr. stated he thought they would do laproscopic surgery. I am looking a what I might be getting into next week.
