Is Laser Treatment Or Urolift Better For An Enlarged Prostate?
I have an enlarged prostate and it effects my urination and sex life. A doctor has recommended a laser treatment to enlarge the urethra from my bladder to prostate. Is the Urolift a more preferable treatment for this or is the laser treatment with catheter for 2 days the appropriate procedure?
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
The type of treatment of prostate problem depends upon the details of symptoms, prostate size, post void residual volume of urine along with associated systemic illness as diabetes or else. As per my surgical experience, a urolift is better as compared to laser as it does not involve cutting or coagulation of any sort. Rapid recovery with no catheter after procedure.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
