Is Leg Weakness A Sign Of A Stroke?

I had a stroke 2 an1/2 yrs ago ND Hd rehab for 6 wks. I did fine but now i am noticing its becoming hard to walk far and my legs hVE GOTTEN WEAKER IN THE LAST YEAR nd i M WONDERING IF I HAD OR AM HAVING A MILD STROKE AGAIN. HAD A PT AND HE HELPED TO MAKE MY LEG MUSCLES STRONGER BUT I AM DONE WITH MY PHYS THERAPY BUT MY STABILITY IN MY LEGS IS NOT GOOD SO I AM AFRAID OF FALLING NOW.I DONT KNOW WHAt steps to take now. pleasee help and thank you my email is: YYYY@YYYY

I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Leg weakness on both sides is not a typical manifestation of stroke. The fact that it has been of a progressive nature reinforces that as stroke normally manifests in an abrupt manner. That doesn't mean that it isn't due to a neurological issue though. It may be a manifestation of peripheral nerve or spinal cord conditions. In order to make a diagnosis a physical exam to check for accompanying signs such as altered reflexes, atrophy etc as well as tests like imaging and nerve conduction studies are necessary. So a neurological consult is advised.
