Is Liposuction Safe After A Total Thyroidectomy?

I had thyroid cancer in 2005 and had a total thyroidectomy in 2005. I am a nurse. They have kept my tsh levels low to keep cancer from reoccurring. I m now at tsh of 0.123. I have gained a stubborn 13 lbs in less than a year while exercising and lowering my caloric intake as well. It has to be my thyroid. Anyways, is it safe for me to undergo the safe lipo or lazer lipo?

Hello
Thank you for writing to us on Health care Magic.
Based on your history the response to your question is as follows.
1. If you are hypothyroid, there is a possibility of future weight gain.
2. However, at present, if you are fit enough for anesthesia, you can safely undergo liposuction.
3. If you have tried all other methods, including exercises and diet, and you have not lost weight, then liposuction is a good idea to reduce cardiovascular complications.
4. In future, regular diet and exercises is necessary to avoid repeat surgeries.
Hope this is helpful to you.
