Is Lithotripsy Procedure Advisable While Passing Red Blood In Stool?

I noticed there was a little red blood in my stool this morning. I am scheduled to have a Lithotripsy procedure to remove a 6mm stone in couple of days. I am concerned that the stress of the procedure could result in complications. Would it be wise to postpone the procedure until we find the reason for the bloody stool?

Hello,

In active bleeding shock wave lithotripsy is not advisable. So in case of acute ureteric colic if benefits outweigh risks then you may go for it. Please consult your urologist he will examine and treat you accordingly.

Take care.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
