Is Lobate Cream Safe To Give For Atopic Dermatitis?

Hello sir ....my daughter having atopic dermatatis from birth....I am using lobate gm on her dryness patches ....is this cream having a side effect in her body.....my skin specialist says its a steroid .....so please avoid this cream....otherwise her skin become loose....

Hi,

Lobate cream contains strong steroid ..clobetasol propionate. It causes many side effects after long term application like atrophy, depigmentation, telangiactesia,stretch marks,acneform eruptions...etc. So, it is wise to avoid it. You may use mild steroid like mometasone. Tacrolimus and pimecrolimus are nonsteroidal cream which are also effective in atopic dermatitis.
