Is Long Gap Between Meals Harmful During Pregnancy?

I m 13 weeks 4 days pregnant, I m still suffering from morning and nausea sickness but I started to sleep lot lately. Where sometimes after breakfast I go back to sleep from 9 am and I wake up around 2 pm. My question is because of time gap of my meals does that effect the baby. Do I have to eat all time? Because I don t feel hungry and if I do then obviously I eat. At the start of my pregnancy because I get sick all the time and everything that I touch I used to vomit so in that sense I used to avoid food. My 2nd question is is sleeping too much good for me and my baby? Thanks x

Hello ma'am and welcome.

Long gaps between meals is indeed harmful. Your body was used to supporting you, but now it needs to support you along with a growing and developing life within you. Long gaps between meals can result in your baby experiencing the feeling of starvation. I would recommend small meals as tolerable every 3 hours (eg. Bowl of fruits, etc.).

As for the long durations of sleeping, this is not harmful except for the fact that you are sleeping for such long durations on an empty stomach.

Hope this helps.

Best wishes.
