Hi,
Any prolonged infection is not good for pregnancy and more so when there is diarrhea. This is because, there is a possibility of accelerated prostaglandin release in such instances and this can cause uterine irritability. Therefore, it is essential that the diarrhea is controlled soon. Please consult your doctor and ask for either a change in the antibiotic or addition of other medication to stop the diarrhea, if that is not possible. Addition of lactobacillus is often helpful in mild infections. For severe infections of the gut, a proper antibiotic becomes necessary. Please maintain a proper electrolyte balance. Take care.
