Is Loss Of Motor Control Due To Frontal Lobe Dementia?

My Mother was diagnosed with Alzheimer s disease and frontal lobe dementia 21 years ago. She is really getting bad now falling and motor skills are getting worse. Could she just have frontal lobe dementia because a lot of symtoms are leaning toward that instead of Alzheimer s? Lisa Bowden

Hello,

Thanks for your query on HCM

"As"per your clinical history is concerned her problem is a part of Alzheimer disease so follow like this-

1)Do a recent MRI and take regular medications as per your neurologist advice[donepezil and Memantine]

2)Make a plan for daily 30-minute walk which can help to improve her mood and maintain the health of her joints, muscles and heart.

3)Try to drink at least several full glasses of liquids every day. Avoid beverages with caffeine, which can increase restlessness, interfere with sleep and trigger frequent need to urinate. She can take milkshakes with protein powders regularly.

4)Try to manage high blood pressure, high blood cholesterol, excess weight and diabetes if any one present.

5)Discuss with your treating doctor about [Omega-3 fatty acids] supplements regularly.

Hope that helps
