Is Low Fat Diet Recommended For Patients With Gall Bladder Stones?
Hello my girlfriend who lives in Argentina needs to have gallbladder surgery to remove her gallbladder because of stones. However she won’t be able to have that surgery for a few months and would like to travel to Seattle and cost me for those 2 months. My concern is her coming here and having complications and needing surgery with out having health insurance. Do you think it is safe for her to travel here? Also a low fat diet is recommended right?
Well, there are some nonsurgical methods but these are mostly unsuccessful. You need to change your dietary habits first. Need to avoid fried food, carbonated drinks, coffee, alcohol and spicy food. You should eat more milk products, vegetables and boiled food. Ursodeoxycholic acid may be used for smaller stones and may dissolve them and ultrasound waves may do it as well, but success is very limited. If there is no improvement in lifestyle or dietary changes, then surgery is recommended.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
