Is Lower Back Pain And Difficulty Walking Due To Fractured Bone?

My 12 year-old daughter slipped and fell off of her bunk bed onto carpet. Her lower back, her bottom bone, is painful and she is walking while wincing. I sent her to school with a note to please be excused from Phys. ED. for the rest of the week. Hoping she will rest and relax and it will feel better soon. Is it possible to bruise that bone? Could she have fractured it?

Hi
Welcome to Healthcare-Magic
Greetings of the day

I have many children around the age of 12 years who present with trauma to the spine, but they rarely have fracture of the spine. Children have got very resilient bones so fracture is unlikely.
If your daughter is having pain while active movements and point tenderness its always better to get X-Ray of Lumbosacral spine to rule out fracture.
