Is Lower Backache Along With Fever A Flu Symptom?

I woke up this morning with lower back pain and felt queasy and just generally lousy. Had no appetite though I have eaten a piece of toast and have kept it down. I am really fatigued though I haven t done anything. I am in the middle of nowhere Colorado so I am not close to my internist. I am 66 and generally in excellent health and always have lots of energy. I am suppose to drive to Denver today (3 hours) and then drive to Dallas on Friday and Saturday. I am contemplating just heading straight home to Dallas. I know this isn t a lot of information but my fever is 99.2 and I normally run subnormal. Ok, sorry...I don t need another doctor. I will go to the doc if this doesn t get better. Was just wondering if it could be the flu? Have never had that and my fever doesn t seem high enough. Thanks anyway.

Hello,

Fever along with fatigue points toward viral infection. So, yes, it can be viral flu. Kindly mention abdominal pain, vomiting, common cold, burning micturition, headache, etc., like complaints if present to guide you further. Paracetamol can be prescribed for fever.
