Is My Diet Perfect As I Am Suffering From Telogen Effluvium?

Hi I am suffering from Telogen Effluvium , and I am wondering if what I am doing is helping regrowth? I have stopped doing overly vigorous exercise and am eating much healthier: yoghurt, milk and cereal, beans, veggies and fruits. What else could I do to speed up the regrowth process and how long will it take to show results? I am still dropping massive amounts of hair . :(

Hi there.

Telogen effluvium usually occurs during a period of stress which has occurred 3 months earlier, like severe emotional stress, typhoid, viral infections, starvation, chronic illnesses etc.

Kindly continue taking healthy balanced diet with plenty of proteins, calcium and fresh fruits and green leafy vegetables. Drink 1-2 litres of water a day. Exercise daily by brisk walking for 40 minutes a day. Get 6-8 hours of sleep daily. All this will speed up the hair growth process and increase stamina and strength for good health.

If the hair growth does not resume well after 2 weeks, kindly consult your Dermatologist to evaluate you for androgenic hair fall. This may require different medication if it is the case.

Hi,
If u r suffering from telogen effluvium, continue with the good diet you are following. Take a multivitamin tablet exclusively for hair growth ( like proanagen tab or adgain Cap ). Get your serum ferritin checked. if it is low take ferrous supplements ( tab or syrup). If it is diffuse hair loss check thyroid status .
