Is My Friend Safe After Taking The I-pill And Experiencing Light Bleeding After Unprotected Sex, And When Will Her Next Period Come?
My friend last period date was 19 aug and ended on 23 aug she had unprotected sex on 26 aug ejaculation was done outside but for safe side she took ipill within an hour after 5 days on 31 aug she got light bleeding which last 3 days before her ovulation day ( ovulation day -2 sep) Is she safe ? Is it withdrawal bleeding and when will her next period come? Please answer
Though, the i-pill may be taken within 5 days of unprotected sex to avoid pregnancy. However, it is more effective, if taken within 3 days of sex. The effectivity may become less after 3 days. Due to high hormonal content of the pill, it may cause irregular bleeding patron like spotting, light or heavy bleeding and even the next menstrual period may be delayed.
Bleeding within 2-5 days may be taken as withdrawal bleeding and pregnancy is generally absent in such cases. I think you are safe against pregnancy. Still, if in doubt, a home pregnancy test may be undertaken to rule out presence of pregnancy.
