a couple of days ago I noticed my ability to speak was impeded for a few minutes. Yesterday I had blurry/double vision both are fine today. I was chewing a piece of gum this afternoon and noticed that the right side of my face in particular my lips and chin began to go numb. It has been about an hour and the numbness is gone but i am a female at almost 42. 4 grown children and I have been smoking mildly for about 5 years. I am pretty fit for my age I run occasionally, lift weights and regular attend a dance class. Im 5 4 and about 175 pounds. Are these symptoms of a mini stroke?
Risk factors for brain stroke such as high sugars, blood pressure, cholesterol and homocysteine should be looked for.

Is Numbness And Double Vision Symptoms Of Stroke?
Hi, Thank you for posting your query. I have noted your symptoms and agree with you that they could be related to minor brain stroke. These are referred to as TIAs- transient ischemic attacks. You should consult a neurologist and get a brain MRI scan done. Risk factors for brain stroke such as high sugars, blood pressure, cholesterol and homocysteine should be looked for.
