Is Olbas Oil Harmful If Accidentally Consumed?

I m a 24 year old man, I was sniffing some olbas oil ( WWW.WWWW.WW ) to clear a blocked nose, a few drops went up my nose and down the back of my throat and was swallowed. As yet there are no symptoms other than a bad taste and a slightly rumbling tummy although this could well be psychosomatic as I have a tendency to be a bit of a hypochondriac. I called NHS direct and reported all this and they recommended A&E but offered no other advice regarding symptoms, course of action in the mean time. I would really prefer not to go to A&E, what symptoms should I be looking out for in case it becomes apparent that I really should go? Should I be drinking water/eating food to dilute the contents of my stomach?

Olbas oil is a mixture of essential oil used to relieve nasal congestion and provide symptomatic relief in bronchial disorders. Accidental ingestion may cause hypersensitive reactions or stinging sensation.

Since you have ingested just a few drops and do not have any other allergic symptoms,you can wait for 4 to 6 hours to look for any hypersensitivity reactions.You can avoid any food intake for the next 4 to 6 hours.In case of breathing difficulty or severe cough,you need to visit the hospital.
