Is Omnicortil And Wysolone Safe For Chest Congestion And Cold?

i have a 18 months old baby boy. he is ofen suffering from cold ultimately leads to chest congestion then to severe cougf and end in wheezing for a week heavely. doctors are prescribing steriod for him when we take him to hospital. they precribe omnicortil and other one precribes wysolone 10 mg. bit scared to give for a long time. my kid get once in every month... so he has to take for week for a month basis. kindly advice is it good to his health in 18 months old.

Thanks for your question on HCM. Both omnacortil and wysolone contains prednisone and it is steroid. And should not be given frequently in 18 month old child. In my opinion you should consult good pediatrician and ask him about inhaled corticisteroids in nebulization form. They are locally given and affect only lungs so safe for systemic side effects. And if recurrent chest congestion is there than chest x ray is must to rule out infection. So better to consult good pediatrician and discuss these things.
