Is Oral Or Vaginal Misoprostol, Effective For Abortion?
My question is this I have 6 weeks of pregnancy and I have decided to end this personal and economic reasons. have an abortion Mifepristone kit - 200mg, Misoprostol - 200mcg (4 tab lets) -Mifepristone + Misoprostol and I wonder if I take the oral or vaginal misoprostol for better effectiveness and if I do I start vaginal bleeding and I still continue with the following dose? to finish all of misoprostol pills
Hello dear Understand your concern Yes mifepristone and misoprostol is effective for abortion if it will used under the observation of gynecologist after getting proper guidance. Pelvic examination and USG shuold be done prior to abortion for confirmation of intrauterine pregnancy of less than 9 week. Do not use this pill at home as complication like excessive and prolonged bleeding, failure of abortion, severe cramp will occur those are not controllable at home. Ideally mifepristone 200 mg orally should be followed by misoprostol 800 ug vaginally under observation of gynecologist after 24-48 hour. If no induced bleeding misoprostol use maximum up to 3 times every 6 hourly. Post abortion USG after 14 days to confirm incomplete abortion. Use safe sex practice in future to avoid unwanted pregnancies in future. Hope you understand my answer Best regards Dr. Sagar
