Is Pain And Burning In Upper Chest While Coughing With Swollen Throat Serious?

I developed a cough friday morning and it has been getting progressivly worse, and now is turning violent, brining me to tears. My throat is kinda feeling swollen, though I can still swallow and breath, though breathing is getting a little labored, espically after coughing. Went to see nurse practictioner sat and she said lungs sound good, and that it was probably allergies or post infection cough. But this feels like something more. Pain/burning in my upper chest when I cough and sometimes breath. Shoudl I go see my reg doctor tomorrow?
