Hi,I am Dr. Alexander H. Sheppe (Psychiatrist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My boyfriend and I were having sex and we were in the woman bent over and man standing up behind position. I began to have lower abdominal pain every time he thrust and when we were done the pain went away. He has a large penis. Could it be because his penis is too big or could it be something worse?

General & Family Physician, Dr. Nishad BN's Response
Hi Thank you for asking HCM. I have gone through your query. Pain during deep penetration can be due to any pelvic inflammation or endometriosis. A pelvic examination by a gynecologist followed by ultrasound examination should be done to rule out this. In case of infection antibiotic therapy will be needed. Hope this may help you. Let me know if anything not clear. Thanks.
In my opinion there is nothing to worry about, the position usually allows the penis to enter a little deeper and hit against the walls of the uterus and at times even apply a certain amount of pressure on the surrounding structures like the urinary bladder. This can cause some amount of discomfort, and if at all it is not something you are comfortable with, all you need to do is avoid the position.
Hope this helps.
Best wishes.
