Is Pain In Head Related To Smoking Weed?

i have an ongoing head problem for about 2 years now. the last time i had to go to a and e with a very sharp, sevire head pain like a knife was piercing into the top of my head, not like your average acheing headache.. it was just after i smoked some weed. could this be related?
