Is Pain In The Left Leg Symptom Of A Muscle Strain?

I ve had muscle pain and soreness in my left leg quads for about 9 weeks. Its particularly uncomfortable when jumping, or climbing stairs or performing weight bearing activity like squats or leg extension. Ice, doesn t seem to help. Prolonged avoidance of jumping and weight bearing does, but when I then jump it s very bad again. Is this likely just a strain? If so, any options to just avoidance?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

It could be a muscle sprain only.

As a first line management, you can take analgesics like Paracetamol or Aceclofenac for pain relief.

If symptoms persist better to consult an orthopedician and plan for an MRI scan.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain,
