Is Pain In Upper Abdomen And Breathing Problems And Vomiting During Post Partum Normal?

my sister is 3 weeks post partum and usually in the middle of the night she is having upper abdomen pain and trouble breathing. She sometimes vomites and last between 5-15 minutes. She went last week to er and they did ekg, cat scan, and found nothing. Said it was maybe contractions. Any ideas?

Hello,

Pelvic and abdominal cramps can occur during postpartum periods and the pain associated with it could lead to vomiting as well. She can take Buscopan 10 mg at bed time. If the symptoms do not resolve, then follow up with the primary provider to rule out any gastro intestinal infection.
