Is Peeling Of The Skin On Both Hands A Side Effect Of Taking Nystatin For Treating Tongue Infections?
I was prescribed Nystatin as a mouth wash to use 4 times a day to take care of some irritations on my tongue. After a week, scaling and peeling began to occur on both hands. I stopped the Nystatin, but the scaling and peeling have not subsided. What do you suggest? (I m scheduled for invasive back surgery on August 1 .) Thank you.

Is Peeling Of The Skin On Both Hands A Side Effect Of Taking Nystatin For Treating Tongue Infections?
Hello, Nystatin can cause skin irritation (with topical use). Scaling and peeling of the skin of hands are unlikely to be due to Nystatin. Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further. Take care Regards, Dr Tushar Kanti Biswas, Internal Medicine Specialist
