Is Peri-menopause Or BP Related To An Increase In The Amount Of Headaches?
Hi there, I have had an increase in the amount of headaches I am getting for a month now. I have been getting radiating pain on the left side of my head towards the back and up to and around my forehead . I have recently experienced severe pain, similar to a brain freeze when drinking an ice cold slush type drink. I also awoke a couple of nights ago to a severe pain in my left leg that went went immediately to my head over my left eye for about 2 minutes! It was debilitating pain, and today when at the Hospital having an injection I felt very faint and had the same kind of reaction with an ongoing headache since then. Any possibility it could be from peri-menopause or BP? I am 47 years young

Hi You can get such symptoms in hypertension and hypercholesterolemia. In perimenopausal period most ladies having increased serum cholesterol.I have seen some with same symptoms as you.A estrogen deprival gives hot flushes and mood swings also. You should check your BP and cholesterol and get them controlled.Get a physician consultation and rule out these. If not controlled well these two can give you a risk of stroke.Let me know if you have any further query. thanks
