Psychiatrist 's  Response
Hi

I admire you for positive outlook.

Dear this all medicine will take time
usually improvement start after 3 weeks.

but i m wondering if diagnoses is only depression then no need of all this medicine.

all this medicine will helpful if it is depression as apart of bipolar disorder.

Yes psychotherapy like supportive psychotherapy and cognitive behavior therapy is beneficial in mild to moderate depression.

if severe depression than 1st choice drug therapy.
Hope you will get best.
Thank you.

Psychiatrist Dr. Seikhoo Bishnoi's  Response
Hello thanks for asking from Health Care Magic

She has complaints of laughing without any reason and depression. She is on sodium valproate 500, topiramate 25 and qutiapine 50 since last 15 days with not much improvement. Usually drugs used for bipolar disorder or depression start showing their effect in about 4 -6 weeks. So as per my opinion you should wait to see full effects of these drugs. If she is having problems of sleep and severe depressive symptoms then there is need to increase the doses of qutiapine. You can also discuss with her psychiatrist to increase the dose of divaa OD (Sodium Valproate) to get proper mood stabilisation.

Yes psychotherapy is beneficial in depression patients. Cognitive Behavior Therapy is very useful in depression. Cognitive distortions of patients are explored and then cognitive restructuring is done. Consult a good psychologist for details of treatment. Medicines and psychotherapy both help in best results.

Thanks
