Is Physical Exam Required Before Getting Medicines Prescribed?

Hi, I recently had a change of Doctors due to him leaving the clinic. I researched another doctor and signed up with him. I needed a doctor to refill my BP Rx with in a month. It turns out that the new doctor does a New patient Physical exam (on his new pt.) Even though I had a physical back in Jan. 2010. Should I let the new doctor do the new pt exam in July?

It is a good idea that a new medical attendant carrying out fresh physical examination,so that he exactly knows what are your parameters, which will enable him to give you correct suggestions and medications.
