Is Pilonidal Sinus Not Curable And Chances Of Its Coming Back After Surgery?

hello doctor, my wife has a pilonidal sinus, just a month before doctor just made a small surgery and remove the puss and let it open and ask to dress daily after a month the wound was healed , after that the doctor asked for a surgery to remove the hair and other debairs watever it is , he told that the opperation sucess rate is 93% only , it may come to some people again, the doctors answer made me very upset. is not quarable? pls answer to my question as soon . thank u

Thanks for query.pilonidal disease has got much greater recurrence rate .with only abscess drainage recurrence rate is 30 to 40 percent.as the hair is main culprit ,some laser hair removal treatments may ease the condition but complete cure is not assurable as it all depends on hygiene and many other factors.regards
