Is Post Nasal Drip A Symptom Of Thyroid Cancer Returning?

Due to papillary thyroid cancer, I had a complete thyroidectomy in sept 2009. In 2011, I had surgery to remove cancer from 3 lymph nodes in the neck. Currently, I m experiencing extreme post nasal drip. I have no allgeries, hardly eat diary and have a humifier in my bedroom at night. My question is this, can post nasal drip be a symptom of the thyroid cancer returning ?

Hi,

It is a very common symptom. But, then, none of the people I see it in have had thyroid cancer even once. Certainly if there are growths from cancer and/or nodes, they can clog things up and cause post nasal drip, so couldn't say in your case. Could be quite difficult to see the whole area without a study. And the whole area would have to be excluded for cancer or nodes.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
