Is Pregnancy Detectable During A Non-prenatal Office Visit?

Is there any way that a doctor would be able to detect a pregnancy during a non-prenatal office visit? For example, if I had a broken ankle or some other type of sports injury and had to see the doctor, would they run tests or notice anything that might tell them I am pregnant? Particularly if this is early on in the pregnancy (in the one-month range from conception)?

Hello ma'am and welcome.

Unless an ultrasound is conducted, menstrual history is taken or a urine examination for pregnancy is conducted as routine, it should not be possible to detect pregnancy.

But I would strongly recommend you to inform the doctor if you are indeed pregnant, as there are procedures, medications, etc; that can harm your fetus.

Hope this helps.

Best wishes.
