Is Pregnancy Possible Despite Taking Oral Contraceptive?
hello, just wanted to confirm I had unprotected sex with my husband on 27th of last month. He said he did not ejaculate inside but for a safer side I had an emergency contraceptive witin 60 hours. My periods are due somewhere between 7th-12th and usually I have delay periods. I checkeD through the pregnancy kit on 4th of this month and the result shown was negative. Currently i can feel the period pain but haven't got any. is it possible that I am pregnant?

General & Family Physician, Dr. Vasudha's Response
hi, I understand your concern. -Emergency contraceptive is effective when taken within 72 hours.( earlier the better results )The ejaculation was out side . So though lesser chance, you can conceive. - You had tested for pregnancy before expected date of periods.. it was too early. The conception should be confirmed/ excluded with pregnancy test after 8 days delay in periods. Thanks.
