Is Pregnancy Possible With One Follicle?

Hi doctor, thanks for taking my question. I m a 31 year old african woman with intramural fibroid of 5.2x 5.3,I have been trying to conceive for the past 5 months now.Beginning of this month I missed my period by 4 days and later on the 6th of this august have a period like bleeding that lasted for 3days and little blood spots for about 4 days with so much pain. On 11th august I took a blood pregnancy test that came negative. Doctor said may be I took the test very early. The pain didn t go away these days it seem to concentrate on the down right side of my stomach and sometimes the pain is on my entire stomach or my back. I was afraid it might be appendicitis so today I went back to the doctor. He did pelvic scan, blood pregnancy test which I didn t collect the result today until tomorrow and the scan showed that a follicle of size 16mm is identified on the right ovary and that my left ovary is free. What does this means? Is it possible that I might be pregnant already?if not can I be possible to get pregnant with just one follicle?

Hi dear,
I have gone through your question and understand your concerns.
Follicle of 16 mm in one ovary is suggestive of the dominant follicle, and it is present prior to ovulation.
Pregnancy is not possible prior to ovulation.
So, it is unlikely that the pregnancy has occurred.
However, chances of getting pregnant with one dominant follicle is there, if the follicle ruptures timely.
Hope you found the answer helpful.
