Is Pregnancy Possible With Test Resulting Into Faint Lines Which Eventually Disappeared?

Hi. I just took a pregnancy test and there was an extremely faint line that eventually disappeared. I took another test within 30 minutes and it was clearly negative. My period is due in 3 days. I am very worried. What's the likelihood the first test was actually positive?

Hi and thanks for the query,

It is difficult to comment on tests with equivocal results. It may have been both ways. If the HCG level is too low for the test it may give such results. Also an inherent manufacturing defect, storage conditions ect may also give such results. This is the reason that a urine test is best done atleast 7 days after the missed period using the first morning sample of urine to give better results.

A better test before the missed period is a blood test. So please do not worry and get a blood test done if you need to confirm the pregnancy status earlier.

Hope this satisfies your query.
