Is Prothiden 25 Mg Safe To Be Consumed During Pregnancy?

hi doctor, i m planning for pregnency. i am taking prothiden 25mg and lonazep 0.5mg. i consult my psychiatrist regarding this. she said that i ll change the tablets, it won t affect your baby . also i give folic acid tablets too. but i am very scared regarding this. please advice me.

The chance of the medicines affecting your baby is less than 5%. However it is a golden rule that no drug should be given during pregnancy unless it is absolutely essential especially during the first three months of pregnancy. Folic acid tablet can to some extent protect against birth defects. However it will not completely prevent birth defects. I feel that tablet Prothedin and Lonazep can be stopped gradually so that you can plan pregnancy for a safe baby.
