Oncologist, Surgical 's  Response
Your father has last stage malignant melanoma which itself is an aggressive skin cancer. In this stage, he cannot be cured. The entire aim of treatment now is to make him as comfortable as possible and to extend his life. For the brain lesions, brain radiotherapy plus steroids is the only option. This will not melt the brain lesions entirely but will keep them in check for sometime. If he is fit then you can consider giving him chemotherapy in consultation with your oncologist else forget it. Sorry to say but he doesnt have long and I would give him around 2-3 months.
