Is Red And Sore Scab In The Place Of Stitches In Knee Due To Fall Serious?
I fell running 4 weeks ago today. I had 10 stitches in my knee (nothing broke). The stitches were removed 2 weeks ago. Things were improving. Yesterday the largest part of the scab came off. This morning it is red and sore. Is this normal or should I have it looked at? Thank you. - Robert
I read carefully your query and understand your concern.
The soreness and redness is completely normal after the scab removal. I suggest using anti inflammatory medications such as Acetaminophen to relieve the symptoms. I also suggest using an antibiotic cream for local application to prevent an infection.
