Is Right Thigh Pain In A Child While Sitting On The Toilet A Serious Concern?

My 10 yr old son has been complaining of right thigh pain when going to sit on toilet. Today he cried from pain and I massaged thinking it was a cramp. He is able to squat and bend without pain. He is high functioning autistic child. He says the toilet is causing pain.

Pediatrician 's  Response
Hi,

Just wondering if he had any trauma or fall that might cause the pain. Is there any bruise or swelling in the area? Is he having any pain while sitting on other chairs or on the floor? Any pain while running or walking. If overlying skin is fine and no other symptoms as I have written then just wait and observe and can give some paracetamol.

If it persists or become worse then please get him checked to make sure everything. He might need investigation if needed after examination like bloods or X-ray.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shehla Usman, Pediatrician
